On the road

Where can a ZiPee Bike be ridden?
Where a pedal bike can go, an electrically-assisted pedal cycle can go including bike lanes, bus lanes and cycle paths.

What age do you have to be to ride a ZiPee on the road?

Riding a ZiPee is legal from the age of 14+

Will I need a licence to ride one?

You are not legally required to have a licence, CBT, road tax or MOT.  You do not need to pay the Congestion charge, the bike does not need registration.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

You are not legally required to wear a helmet, though you may choose to use one for your personal safety or not to alarm fellow road users or bring unnecessary attention to law enforcement.

Do I need insurance?

Although not legally required on the road, you may wish to insure your ZiPee against theft.  A house insurance policy may cover it, alternatively you can obtain specific pedal bike insurance from Cycleguard specialist team on 02476 851000 to get an instant quote.
